About Us

Take Note Theatre is a company which has a specific focus on musical theatre. Under the Artistic Director Luke Sheppard and General Manager Neil Franklin, the company exists to bring lesser known musical works to new audiences as well as encouraging, producing and developing our own shows through to full production. There is a strong emphasis on new writing within our work.

This Autumn the company have programmed an inaugural season of new musical theatre pieces to transfer direct from the Edinburgh Fringe. Headlined by the two award winning shows The Great British Soap Opera and Over The Threshold, the month long event hopes to bring new work to an audience beyond the Fringe. There will also be showcases of two ongoing projects Take Note is developing with bright new writers - Chat! and Six Ways

The company developed and produced Jet Set Go! for the Edinburgh Fringe 2008. Following critical acclaim the production transferred to Theatre503 for a limited run. In 2009 a new production was presented at Jermyn Street Theatre for three weeks, attracting critical acclaim and a new West End cast. All three runs were a sell out and received fantastic national coverage. The company also produced I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change at the Fringe attracting five star reviews and sell out audiences.

Looking ahead the company is working with several writing teams to develop new work this side of the Atlantic, as well as producing a number of British premieres of international masterpieces yet to be seen in this country. More details to be announced shortly.

Take Note Theatre will forever be grateful to the individuals who have helped make and create our work, and to those who have been with us from the beginning.
